With the same goal as the design of the Shonto Public Services Complex, this project involved the design of a place for self-empowerment that will lead to a life of self-sufficiency. The architectural concept is based upon the artistry of Navajo basket weaving and serves as the signature design element of the project as well as the focus of fund-raising efforts.
The design program includes a convenience store with gasoline pumps, the NAPI product warehouse, a new 60-room hotel, gallery spaces and a multi-tenant component to house various retail operations that will foster the economic sustainability of the center.
