This retirement home in Scottsdale Arizona, with about 1,600 GSF of construction was a complete renovation of a typical cut-de-sac development; the existing residence had several enclosed rooms and really limited visibility on the interior, making the space feel a lot smaller than what it was.
By removing load bearing wall and replacing them with concealed glue-laminated beams an open space was created at all the social areas of the house; big storefront windows to the north and east and skylights at strategic locations provide natural light to the interior space without glare or discomfort.
