Congratulations to City of Phoenix’s Economic Development new Trade Office in Hermosillo Sonora, Mexico! What an honor to be part of its grand opening.
The establishment, inaugurated on March 31, is the first Economic Development office of the City of Phoenix in Mexico. Through its multiple services it will encourage economic development between the two sister cities and between the two states, Sonora and Arizona, extending to the overall region.
Merge Architectural Group’s Carlos Murrieta, one of the original City of Phoenix delegation members, was part of the 2022 delegation during the ceremony. As a member, Carlos has brought an important perspective as a licensed architect in both in the U.S. and Mexico, with a well-rounded understanding of architecture and construction in both countries.
The Phoenix delegation participated on a 3-day series of events, including an exchange of ideas event with City of Hermosillo’s Councilmembers, Mayor Antonio Astiazaran, and City of Phoenix Councilmembers Betty Guardado, and Carlos Garcia.
